When you spoke at the RBCPC Women’s Retreat several years ago you mentioned as an aside that it only took 20 minutes a day to read through the Bible in a year. I hooked into that and went home and started reading and made it through in a year. I was so excited about the process and getting to know all about God that I suggested to several people that this would be a good activity for our church. One of the persons I shared with was Bruce Humphrey, our head pastor. In January of this year our church started a read through the Bible in a year. Bruce told me that my sharing my experience was what gave him the idea. This journey for our church started with you and that aside comment at the retreat. The church has given away over 1000 Bibles. It may be close to 2000 by now and last night I was at an event and 3 women were talking and they said they had read more of the Bible in the last month than they have in their entire lives. Praise God and thank you for taking that “rabbit trail” 5 years ago. I look forward to hearing you on Feb. 24.

Thank you for speaking at the Yorba Linda Friends retreat this past weekend. You really touched my heart with a nugget of truth that I Intend to remember everyday. The way you put it was that Joy is NOT a person, place or thing but God’s spirit residing in us. Thank you for that important reminder for when I get caught up in thinking if only my circumstances were different.
