ENCOURAGING WORDS FOR PARENTS WHO ARE HURTING
”Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you.
If you have ever had a prodigal child, or if you’ve been a prodigal (like I was) then you know the heartbreak it can bring to a family. A prodigal is defined as someone who has walked away from God, or is living apart from Him. Many parents I meet feel hopeless and live in constant pain. But let me assure you, this is not a hopeless situation. Parents, you can have confidence and peace through your journey, but only if you invite Jesus into the situation. Jesus Christ’s grace is sufficient in all things ( 2 Corinthians 12: 9). If you are brokenhearted, He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:11). If you are carrying a heavy burden over your situation, He wants to bear your burdens (Psalms 68:19). If you are suffering, keep in mind He will strengthen you. (I Peter 5:10) He alone gives peace in the midst of pain (Phil. 4:7). Most importantly, He wants to change you as you wait! In this workshop, Judy shares encouraging, even humorous stories from other parents who have lived with a prodigal. They would testify that through their journey, God changed them. There is renewed hope and help for parents with prodigals, but only if you turn it all over to God! If you are a parent in need of fresh insight into your dilemma and need a few giggles as well, this workshop is for you. The hope in the story of the prodigal is that he did come to his senses. He knew he could go home again.

Judy,
This is an outstanding book and I got it from you at the YLFC Women’s retreat. It, of course, is exactly what I need at exactly the right time. Then God led me to Bob and he said I should talk with you. I’m looking forward to hearing you at the FISH Women’s Night Out. Thank you for following God’s lead to write this book. Every page was written just for me!!!!
